Our children here at Britannia are incredibly enthusiastic about Science! During a recent pupil interview session Miss Rothwell found that the children had very few complaints about their Science lessons and that they just loved them!
Our lucky children have the opportunity to take part in a ‘Mad Science’ club which will take place on Fridays for Autumn term.
This is a great opportunity for children to learn with different people and experience what it’s like to be a scientist!
Your children have recently had an assembly telling them all about a STEM club available for KS2 children to take part in during spring term. The children will get to challenge themselves with lots of Science Maths Engineering and Maths.
TREE PLANTING COMPETITION!
We have another competition for you to take part in! Please take a tree home from school with permission from your parents and plant it somewhere so that it will grow big and strong! Hopefully it will encourage lots of wildlife to visit the area!
Please send a picture in of your tree when it has been planted. The best pics will win prizes!
Shadow Competition 2017/17!
We have a very exciting competition happening throughout this half term. Your child has been informed about the ‘Shadow Competition’ during assembly. If your child wishes to enter the competition, then they must create words or an image using shadows. Then they simply need to send a picture of the shadow that they have created to school. Some examples can be seen on the back of this letter.
All you need is a light, some objects, a camera and blank background. To enter, you must send a picture of the image created in to school with your child. These should be given to Miss Rothwell with your child’s name and class on the back, otherwise it will be impossible to identify who each image belongs to. Alternatively the image could be emailed to Miss Rothwell at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please state your child’s name and class in the email.
All entries must be received by Monday 6th February and the winners will be announced on Friday 10th February. A KS1 and KS2 winner will be announced: they will be rewarded with a £10 Argos voucher each. Runners up will also receive a prize. Every child who enters will receive a certificate for taking part.
This is a whole school competition and every entry will be welcome. I hope that lots of children will take part in this competition and that it will be enjoyable.
Here are some examples!
