Reception 2020 - 2021
Reception teacher, EYFS Lead, Assessment Lead and RE lead.
Welcome to Reception!
In Reception at Britannia there are two members of staff...
Mrs Isherwood is the teacher and Mrs Bromley is the teaching assistant. Here are photographs of what we look like!
In Reception we always have lots of fun and we always do lots of learning. Mrs Bromley and I like to go outside and make big dens - even in the rain or snow! Mrs Bromley is really good at cooking and sometimes she cooks with the class. They make yummy foods such as sweet and sour chicken, pancakes, crispy cakes...what would you like to make when you are in our class?
Things have started a little differently this year due to all of the germs, but we are still doing lots of learning and having so much fun in class!
If you want to ask me any questions, or your grown-ups do, send me an email:
Mrs Bromley and I are so pleased at how all of the children have setteld in to their new school life here at Britannia!
Over the next couple of days I will be emailing all parents a little update on how their child has been settling into our class. If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to contact me! (8.10.2020)
I will post information about learning to do at home in case your child is off isolating. This is in a file at the bottom of this webage.
In the event of a full bubble closure you and your child should complete work in the CGP books which have already been provided. I will let you know which pages to complete on which days should the need arise!

PE Kit: Black pumps/plimsolls, Britannia PE kit can be purchased from Ann's in Bacup.
If the children are taking PE outside, they may be allowed track suit bottoms (at the teacher’s discretion). Trainers will be allowed for outdoor PE. Parents will be informed if lessons could be completed outdoors. Given our beautiful school grounds, this is likely to occur.
All of our school uniform is available from Ann’s of Bacup – on Rochdale Road.
Our final request is that all school clothing is labelled. This makes life easier for the child, the teacher and for the parent! I know it sounds daft, but please can you also label your child's shoes. We have had a few occasions where a child is insisting a shoe isn't theirs - even when the other matching shoe is on their foot!
