Work Due to Covid-19

Please find below the timetable of work to be completed at home during lockdown. All the files with the daily learning activities can be found at the bottom of the webpage.

Please complete these tasks in order, to the best of your ability. If you do not have the resources needed to complete some tasks DO NOT WORRY! Just have a go and have fun. I am here to help with everything – so please just let me know!

You are all doing an amazing job. These plans are to help structure your child’s learning but I completely understand that you are not teachers. Have a try, have fun and enjoy being with your children J

Please send the work to myself on katie.isherwood@britannia.lancs.sch.uk once completed. If you have any quesitons at all please do not hesitate to contact me.

(floating and sinking linked to Science)

Science

Look at yourself really closely in a mirror (full length if possible). What body parts can you name? Can you make a picture of yourself and label the body parts you know?

I wonder if anyone knows where their thigh is?

Or their eyebrows?

Do you know where your shin is?

Or your nostrils?

If you have enough paper, you could lie on the ground and have a grown up draw around you!

Or, your grown up could take a photograph of you, put it into Pic Collage and then label it from there!

Extra challenge: Where is your heart? Where are your lungs? Where is your spine? Where is your cranium?

Can you think of any more tricky body parts to name?

Wednesday (3)

Goldilocks and the Three Bears

Day 3

Go into your garden, your yard, or your local park. Can you find different leaves, sticks, twigs, flowers, etc? Make your own animal collage with them! I cannot wait to see your photographs of these!

Can you set up some of these races at home and have a go?

Send me photographs or videos!

Friday (5)

Plant your own seed!

If you are unable to do this, you could go hunting for a dandelion clock and talk about the seeds. Or find seeds in an apple or orange!

Day 5

Checking amounts

Shapes

Understanding the World (one of the Early Learning Goals)

What things do you celebrate with your family? Do you celebrate birthdays? Christmas? Hanukkah? Eid? Chinese New Year? Diwali? Easter? St George’s Day? Anniversaries?

Make a poster all about the things you celebrate.

In my house we celebrate Christmas, Easter, St George’s Day, birthdays, my wedding anniversary and Chinese New Year.

Extra challenge: can you find out about any of the other celebrations which I mentioned?
